OSL Corner
Wow! The North American International Order of St. Luke 2006 Conference, Garments of Praise, was spectacular! The Rev. Mike Endicott from Wales was the keynote speaker. His talks were inspiring in powerful clarity, simplicity and humor! If you were unable to attend, we strongly suggest contacting Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and ordering the tapes. 210-826-3216. ask for Renee Kizziar. There were many talented leaders of workshops, as well. Those sessions were recorded as well. Thanks again to all who made it so special!
One of the new fun additions was an auction of the banner (see pictures above). We raised over $3,000 to have a scholarship fund for next year’s conference; which, by the way, will be in Cherry Hill, NJ, just outside of Historic Philadelphia. Jack will be the keynote speaker along with our beloved friend and physician, Dr. Carl Peveto, of Austin, TX.

CONVENERS’ CORNER
Now that the doldrums of summer are over and autumn is upon us, it is time for us to really get energized and excited about vitalizing our OSL Chapters. Conveners, get excited! SPREAD THE NEWS ABOUT OSL!!! Invite others to join this wonderful organization publicize it by having items printed in your parish newsletters and pew bulletins. Have a few OSL information pamphlets printed to distribute around the campus and to individuals. If you should you want to have some examples, contact me and I will send you some samples which you can adapt to your parish and OSL members.
Encourage young people to join….you might even plan a way to contact the teen-agers and pre-teens in your EYC and have an “ice cream social” or such to introduce them to the concept of Christian Healing Prayer.
Very soon there will be an option on the OSL website where the Convener Newsletter will be accessible. I am sure that you will welcome the ease of receiving it that way. There will be no more OSL expenses required for postage or printing or paper. As publicity people say, “All NEW AND COMING YOUR WAY SOON.”
