"Many years ago God invited Jack Sheffield
to come into His river of healing. Fortunately for himself and the
many thousand recipients of his ministry, Jack answered that call.
And he wasn't satisfied like many of us to stick in his toe or even
to wade, but he moved deeper and deeper into the water until he became
immersed in God's Spirit and truth.
This book is a virtual reservoir of knowledge,
of experience with and practical insight into hearing God and moving
in His power. God has called Jack to great things, but it has not
always been without cost. The testimony of his personal car accident
and death encounter reveals his understanding of the supernatural
in a away no one can refute or forget.
His wealth of experience, stories and testimonies
will make you laugh, cry, want to jump for joy and get yourself to
the river. There are sections of the book that are practical and helpful
for every Christian, like the power of forgiveness and examples of
God's holiness and entering into His presence. The description and
explanation of what actually takes place when the Holy spirit comes
in power for healing is beautifully developed.
Hearing God in prophecy and dreams and
understanding the correlation between prophecy and prayer only help
us go deeper into understanding God's Holy Spirit gifts for healing.
God's Healing River shares the heart of God and His longing to loose
His Holy Spirit over each one of us.
God has placed His vision in Jack's heart
that churches are to be places of healing, restoration and redemption
and that He desires using ordinary lay people to bring it forth-people
like you and me. Jack shows us in this wonderful book that when we
believe and pray, God shows up in power. We become transformed, never
again content to sit on the banks idly observing this living water
flowing by us. We desire to go deeper, to become immersed in His love,
power, grace and healing. By doing this we become a tributary of this
river, a body of living water to be used by our Father God."

Introduction
- This is only the scripture upon which the introduction, the ministry
and the book are based. It is Ezekiel 47:1-2, 3-9
Then he brought me back to the entrance
of the temple; there, water was flowing from below the threshold
of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east); and the
water was flowing down from below the south end of the threshold
of the temple, south of the altar going on eastward with a cord
in his hand, the man measured on thousand cubits, and then led me
through the water; and it was ankle-deep. Again he measured one
thousand, and led me through the water; and it was up to the waist.
Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could
not cross, for the water had risen;' it was deep enough to swim
in, a river that could not be crossed. He said to me, 'Mortal, have
you seen this?' Then he led me back along the bank of the river.
As I came back, I saw on the bank of the river a great many trees
on the one side and on the other. He said to me, 'This water flows
toward the eastern regions and goes down in to the Arabah, and when
it enters the sea, the sea of stagnant waters, and the water will
become fresh. Wherever the river goes, every living creature that
swarms will live, and there will be very many fish, once these waters
reach there. It will become fresh; and everything will live where
the river goes.
